Frequently Asked Questions

  • Please visit the contact page and fill out the booking form. Provide as much detail as possible about your tattoo idea, including desired placement and size. If you only have a general idea of what you want and are not sure about size and placement that’s okay! During your consultation we can work together to realize your vision. With that being said, I do not take on every request if I feel that I am not the right artist for your project. If I believe that your project is within my ability and style you will hear back within ten days. You must be 18 or older to be tattooed.

  • When we meet on zoom for your consultation please have your reference material ready regarding your tattoo, whether it is your own sketches, photographs, or images saved on your phone. You will have as much time as needed to discuss the details of your idea so that the perfect design can be created for you. At the end of the consultation if you would like to book a tattoo date a non-refundable deposit of $350 will be required to confirm your booking.

  • Deposits are non-refundable. The deposit confirms your booking and goes toward the final cost of your tattoo (covering one hour of tattoo time). If your tattoo requires multiple sessions to complete your deposit will come off the cost of the final session. If you need to reschedule your tattoo appointment your deposit can be put towards a new appointment date as long as you give at least 48 hours notice. If you reschedule within 48 hours of your appointment you will lose your deposit and another one will be required to book a new date. If you reschedule more than twice you will lose your deposit. Please understand that these policies are in place because if you reschedule multiple times or close to your tattoo appointment it is difficult to prepare for and book in another client on short notice.

  • Be sure to check your email about a week before your tattoo appointment as you will be sent a copy of the tattoo design for your approval. Keep in mind that what you see is just the stencil, meaning it is the basic outline of the design and does not include any dotwork or shading yet. Once you receive your design please reply to the email to communicate if there are any minor alterations you would like to make. If there are design changes that will take more than one hour to redraw you will be charged a $100 revision fee on top of your final tattoo cost. It is advised to be as clear as possible and include as much detail as possible in your original submission in order to minimize revisions. No revisions will be made on the day of your tattoo appointment so please communicate your desired changes beforehand.

  • In the days leading up to your tattoo appointment please make sure you are rested, hydrated, and well fed. DO NOT DRINK ALCOHOL THE NIGHT BEFORE! If you show up to your appointment hungover your nervous system will be highly sensitized and the quality of your tattoo may be compromised due to bleeding. If you show up to your appointment with a sunburn you will not be able to get tattooed that day, so be sure to avoid overexposure to the sun in the week leading up to your appointment. You are welcome to bring headphones, a book, a pillow - whatever you need to feel comfortable. Eat a protein rich breakfast before you arrive and be sure to bring a water bottle and enough snacks to avoid getting low blood sugar during the session. Please come alone to your appointment.

HYGIENE POLICY: On the morning of your appointment please shower but DO NOT apply any perfume, cologne, hairspray, or lotion. Please do not smoke cigarettes before your appointment. No smoke breaks are permitted during the session but vaping outside is allowed. Wear clean, loose fitting clothing and bring slippers or socks as no shoes are worn inside.

  • Pregnant and breastfeeding mothers will not be considered for tattoo projects as the risks have not been sufficiently researched . While there is not an abundance of scientific evidence on these risks, many healthcare professionals advise caution and recommend avoiding unnecessary exposures to pain and stress during pregnancy. A woman's immune system can also be altered during this time, potentially increasing the risk of an allergic response to tattoo ink.

  • One of the most important things to know about getting a tattoo is how to care for it afterwards. You will be provided with an aftercare package containing ointment and an instruction sheet that you can also find below. Improper aftercare (eg. suntanning, hot tubs, picking or scratching the tattoo) will result in poor healing. Please be diligent about caring for your tattoo as it will greatly affect the final look and longevity of your piece of body art.

    • You may leave your second skin covering on for up to four days. Not all skin agrees with adhesives, so if your skin is bothered by the adhesive you may remove the covering sooner.

    • When you are ready to remove the covering, do so in the shower where you can slowly tease it off with the help of warm water and soap.

    • Use only your hands to gently wash the tattoo with a mild unscented soap. Do not scrub it with anything abrasive like a washcloth or loofah.

    • After your shower, let the tattoo air dry or pat it with a paper towel. Do not rub it with a cloth towel as it may introduce bacteria to the tattoo.

    • From this point forward, you will treat the tattoo like a minor wound. This means:

    • No scratching or picking the tattoo. It will become itchy, dry, and tight as it heals. To relieve this sensation, wash your hands and apply the provided ointment throughout the day. You may also use your preferred choice of moisturizer (coconut oil, unscented Aveeno, Aquaphor, Inkredible, Tattoo Goo)

    • No saunas, hot tubs, pools, or baths for a minimum of two weeks. If two weeks have passed and there is still some minor scabbing or any irritation around the tattoo, wait longer until the skin has completely healed over.

    • Keep the tattoo away from animals. If you sleep with animals in your bed, lovingly kick them out for the first three days after you remove your second skin covering and make sure you put fresh sheets on the bed.

    • The sun is the ultimate enemy of tattoos! For the first three weeks of healing keep your tattoo out of the sun. After it has healed it is strongly suggested to put sunscreen on your tattoo every time it is exposed to the sun, as this will greatly affect the longevity of your artwork. A thick, mineral based sunscreen like Thinkbaby or Green Beaver are recommended brands, but you may choose any zinc sunscreen that you like.
